Certificate of Eligibility

A certificate that is issued by the Veterans Administration office which states that the veteran is eligible for a VA insured loan.

You will want to provide a DD214 in order to receive the Certificate Of Eligibility.

The certificate of eligibilty can take up to a month to receive from the VA center. It is in your best interest to plan ahead, and request the certificate as soon as you become eligible.

To obtain a Veteran's Certificate of Eligibility, you must submit the completed VA Form 26-1880. Your eligibility will be determined on the length of time served, which varies if your time was served was during War or Peace time.

After using there Certificate of Eligibility most borrowers don't believe they can acquire another certificate. In reality, most veteran's can aquire a second certificate.

You must have a certificate of eligibility to acquire a VA loan. This can be obtained online in most cases now but can be done through normal mail. There are two VA centers in the USA which handle VA eligibility certificates:
